HOW WE BEGAN

A seed of resilience.

Bota-Nanny began as a seed of resilience during a time of uncertainty. In 2020, when the pandemic turned the restaurant industry upside down, founder Claudia Capuano turned to her roots—both in gardening and in community building. Drawing on her experience with WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) and a passion for sustainable living, she rallied a team of restaurant servers to create something extraordinary: raised garden beds that empower families to grow their own food.

OUR PROGRESS

The joy of gardening.

What started as a hopeful solution in a time of crisis has blossomed into a thriving business. Since then, we’ve built over 350 raised garden beds, helped dozens of clients transform their backyards, and inspired a love for slow living, sustainability, and the simple joys of gardening.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Planting hope.

For Claudia, gardening isn’t just about planting seeds—it’s about planting hope, nurturing resilience, and connecting with the earth. From her transformative farm experiences in West Lafayette to her travels on the Appalachian Trail and beyond, Claudia has always found solace and purpose in the land. That same philosophy guides everything we do at Bota-Nanny today.

Our mission is to make gardening easy, approachable, and joyful for everyone.

Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting out, we’re here to help you cultivate a space that nourishes both body and soul.

Meet Claudia Capuano

Claudia Capuano is a gardener, adventurer, and storyteller at heart. Her love for sustainable living and hands-on learning has shaped her journey and the way she approaches everything she does.

Claudia has worn many hats throughout her life—from studying theater and anthropology to working on farms across the U.S. Her diverse background reflects her belief in resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of forging new paths. Claudia brings an infectious energy and thoughtful care to everything she touches.

When not tending to her plants or on the move, Claudia enjoys slow living, cooking from her garden, and spending time with her partner, Drew, their 2 cats and dog, Odie. For her, life is about cultivating meaningful connections—with the earth, others, and herself.
